Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
NewsLater (the website at newslater.org and the NewsLater Chrome extension) is operated by Skyhub Tech (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and collect only what the service needs to work.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture from your Google account.
- Articles you save: the address, title, site name and readable text of pages you choose to save, plus the summaries we create from them.
- Your settings: delivery time, time zone, number of stories, tone, and the topics or RSS feeds you add.
- Newsletters: a copy of each edition we send you, so you can read past editions.
- Extension token: a sign-in token stored in your browser so the extension can reach your account. We store only a hashed version on our servers.
- Basic technical logs: standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept briefly to keep the service secure and working.
What the Chrome extension does
The extension reads a page only when you ask it to, by clicking Save, using the keyboard shortcut or the right-click menu. It then sends that page’s address, title and readable text to your NewsLater account. It does not track your browsing, read other tabs, or collect pages you have not chosen to save.
- activeTab and scripting: to read the title and text of the article you save.
- storage: to keep your sign-in token on your device.
- contextMenus and notifications: to add the Save options to the right-click menu and confirm saves.
- favicon: to show site icons next to your saved articles.
How we use your data
- To save your articles and write short summaries of them.
- To send your daily newsletter at the time you choose.
- To find extra articles from your topics and feeds when you turn on auto-fill.
- To run, secure and fix the service.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data to build advertising profiles.
Services we use
We share data only with the providers needed to run NewsLater, and only for that purpose:
- Supabase (database and sign-in), hosted in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Cloudflare (website hosting and network).
- Anthropic (Claude AI), which receives the text of articles you save to write summaries. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- Resend (sending the newsletter email).
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
How long we keep data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. Saved articles and past editions stay in your account until you delete them or your account. When you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You can see and delete your saved articles in the app, change your settings, and unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in every newsletter. Under the GDPR you can also ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email renos@skyhubtech.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to your data is limited to your own account, and extension tokens are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
NewsLater is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, let you know by email.
